Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the development, installation, and maintenance of custom design applications.
  • Monitor HelpDesk and provide direct support to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve corporate-wide, multi-discipline, and technical issues for custom applications.
  • Assists with design technology pilot project and product testing.
  • May perform and / or assist with training and follow-up activities.
  • Create and maintain how-to and workflow documentation as it relates to custom applications.
  • Interact with corporate and operations staff to identify customization needs for design applications.
  • Participate in and lead pilot projects for the implementation of new technologies and new versions of modeling, engineering, and analysis software.
  • Participate in the Investigation and implementation of new design and engineering productivity tools (plug-ins, new software, etc.).

Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree / DIRECT / 3-5
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient in C# and / or VB.Net, with a good knowledge of its ecosystems.
  • Direct experience in Autodesk Design Application APIs.
  • Skill for writing reusable .NET libraries.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming.
  • Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience creating database schemas that represent and support business processes.
  • Interest in process improvements as it relates to design and construction deliverables.
  • Experience with Autodesk applications on large, multi-discipline projects.
  • Experience in metadata migration in and out of BIM applications for other uses.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible in adopting new technologies and processes.
  • Comfortable presenting to internal and external groups on programming subject manner.

A Design Technology Software Developer at SSOE has entrepreneurial spirit and constantly seeks out new opportunities for creativity and innovation. They work in a multi-discipline team environment and are able to prioritize and execute programming activities with a core focus on workflow efficiencies. The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering and a minimum of 3 years experience with SSOE projects and workflows, or the same educational requirements as above with 5 or more years related practical experience. In lieu of degree, a minimum of 7 years of software design experience with SSOE or 9 years related design experience with former employer(s) is required. Experience in an A / E firm environment preferred.
