Job Title: Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead effort for development of electrical / I&C design packages.
  • Assist in P&ID development.
  • Develop MCC one lines and electrical schematics.
  • Develop and maintain instrument index.
  • Create specifications.
  • Develop loop diagrams and other instrument wiring drawings.
  • Develop and apply instrument installation details.
  • Develop control panel designs.
  • Interface with client and SSOE team to coordinate design activities.
  • Checking and technical assurance of drawings and specifications.
  • Develop / Coordinate the development of PLC and HMI software.

Position Type: Contract / Regular Full-Time
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree / DIRECT / 8+ OSHA 10/30-hour Construction Certificate preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • PLC / HMI programming. DCS programming a plus.

Position Summary
SSOE is seeking an instrumentation and controls engineer for our Midland, Michigan office. In this position, the engineer will support and complete projects with SSOE's Energy, Glass, Chemical, and Manufacturing Business Unit. Ideal candidates will provide leadership, have strong communication skills, and hold themselves accountable. This individual will lead effort for development and help build relationships with clients. Candidate must have an engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program.
