SSOE Inc. currently has an exciting career opportunity in our Troy, MI office for an Senior Mechanical Engineer.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at SSOE, you will have the opportunity to:

Requirements: Bachelor Degree in Engineering, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice. PE or PE-tracked preferred, plus two five (5) or more years of related practical experience with former employer(s) required. Registered PE with strong HVAC & Plumbing systems design experience related to Health Care, Commercial and Education projects. Capable of leading a new or renovation project, assessing field conditions, selecting the appropriate equipment for the application. Ability to incorporate the applicable code requirements, size ducts/pipes, calculate ASHRAE 62 ventilation rates, utilize load estimating software. Capable of generating engineering manhour and construction cost estimates, defining project work scope. Strong interpersonnal and written communications. NFPA, Energy Code, ComCheck, Green Buildings, 2D CAD/3D exposure/experience a plus. Travel Required.
Qualified candidates will have the following attributes: Strong Health Care Background. Desire & Ability to interact with clients. Ability to make presentations and relate similar project experiences in layman's terms to prospective clients. Utilize experience to analyze existing HVAC systems and help clients develop conceptual project plans and work scope. Demonstrated experience leading major new and renovation projects in hospitals, medical centers, medical offices & ambulatory surgery facilities. Ability to thoroughly check project drawings and specifications. Ability to mentor staff, provide technical overview/consultation, and define and delegate engineering tasks. Other duties as assigned.
