Position Type Regular Full-Time
Position Summary: Communications Writer with the ability to compose various professional and marketing documents related to the Architectural, Engineering and Construction fields.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: - Develop story idea and angles.
- Conduct interviews with technical sources (internal and external).
- Write copy, manage editing and revision process and in some instances, act as overall project manager for the following:
- Whitepapers - ranging from overview to fairly technical papers.
- External Newsletter which contains articles on services, industry trends, tips for clients, etc.
- Award Nominations
- Boilerplate
- Collateral mainly consisting of brochures highlighting SSOE's markets or services
- Company Website which involves keeping existing text fresh and writing text for new pages
- Internal newsletter
- Other writing tasks as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree Preferred in Communications, Writing, Journalism or Marketing. 3 - 7 years related experience in the following industries: AEC, Technical, Industrial, Healthcare, Retail and/or Agency environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:- Familiarity with the AEC industry preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to multitask and prioritize.
- Demonstrated communication and proofreading skills with superior command of English language and grammar.
- Proven ability to transition from writing creative copy to journalistic pieces.
- Well-versed in interviewing skills and developing story angles.
- Ability to simplify and clarify complex ideas into compelling marketing messages consistent with company's current tone and voice.
- Knowledge of prevailing softward applications.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- *Writing samples required with application. Samples written for business to business companies rather than business to consumer companies preferred.
