The Electrical Designer will be responsible for performing routine tasks using a computer for drafting and design applications for commercial, light industrial, and high-tech manufacturing facilities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Determine, select, and specify instrumentation and controls required to monitor, operate and control mechanical, process, and electrical systems.
  • Develop P&ID’s, logic diagrams, and wiring diagrams under direction of lead engineer or designer.
  • Develop instrument index and panel drawings under direction of lead engineer of designer.
  • Interpret and apply codes, job procedures, standards, and specifications.
  • Interface with other design disciplines.
  • Provide field assistance as required.
  • monitor and review on-site installation, start-up and operation of instrumentation and controls.
  • Perform inspections of equipment as required.

Minimum Education and Experience

Associate’s Degree / DIRECT / 0-2

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of new and/or existing commercial, light industrial, and high-tech manufacturing facilities.
  • Computer skills with MS Windows XP, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Proficient use of AutoCAD required, 3D a plus.
  • Effective communication and impromptu problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a cost-effective and timely basis.
  • Understanding and skill in assessing a customer’s requirements/needs in the field.
  • Revit experience required.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Technology or Engineering, a plus.
