Mechanical Engineer (Commercial)

Position Summary

Mechanical Engineering team is looking for a lead engineer to the team, with strong HVAC and piping systems design experience.Client industry focus is related to Retail, Healthcare and Commercial projects.

Will be tasked with meeting with client to define project scope, present project progress, and assure client satisfaction. Along with leading the project team in the design and engineering while adhering to schedule and budget. Also working on personal design and engineering solutions on various projects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, delegate engineering/ Revit & AutoCAD tasks with support staff, including domestic and international office resources, and between disciplines.
  • Ability to incorporate the applicable code requirements, size ducts/pipes, calculate ventilation rates, utilize load estimating software.
  • Capable of leading a new or renovation project, assessing field conditions, selecting the appropriate equipment for the project application.
  • Handle construction administration duties for projects within the mechanical department.
  • Serve as a strong mentor and support of junior members of the department.
  • Possess the ability to perform detailed phases of engineering work on major projects or total engineering work on projects of smaller or moderate scope.
  • Capable of generating engineering man-hour and construction cost estimates, defining project work scope.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree / DIRECT / 6-8
OSHA 10/30-hour Construction Certificate preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice, is required.
  • PE (Professional Engineer) or PE-tracked preferred.
  • Three or more years of current related practical experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability produce, complying and monitor with project schedules and budgets.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment, using strong interpersonal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to participate in client meetings and business development activities.
  • Ability to travel both local and overnight. Due to travel requirements for this role, must have a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain company insurance coverage.
  • Demonstrated ability to show continued professional education in professional field.
  • Ability to make decisions independently on engineering problems, practices, and methods and may create and refine unique design solutions.
  • Korean language a plus.
