Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare project engineering and construction scope of work documents, cost estimates, design calculations.
  • Proficiency for drafting design documents, preparation of equipment specifications.
  • Processes shop drawings, checks to ensure quality accuracy and completeness.
  • Pipe routing, support modeling, extraction of support drawings.
  • Pipe routing modeling.
  • Equipment modeling.
  • Preparing pipe support and piping fabrication packages.
  • Inspection of support and piping in fabrication yard.
  • Interdiscipline coordination and solving workshare queries.
  • Management and training of more junior members of staff. Provide technical supervision and direction of project team members.
  • Coordinates and directs the work effort of designers on the same project with some responsibility for checking portions of the completed drawings.

Minimum Education and Experience:
Associate's Degree / DIRECT / 8+
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Diploma in mechanical engineering with 10-15 years of core piping experience.
  • Proficiency in piping software like PDMS. Revit knowledge would be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of piping, fabrication of piping or spool, assembly of piping information.
  • Knowledge of piping application required for different service in industry.
  • Basic design knowledge of equipment and instrument.
  • Experience in 3D piping modeling.
  • Aware of isometric, P&ID, support of piping and other deliverers related to piping.
  • Self-motivation to clarify scope of work, anticipate issues, propose options, and find cost-effective or schedule-driven solutions. Problem-solving and flexibility in fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiastic, able to work well under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Attention to details and strong sense of responsibility.
  • Team player, open-minded, and flexible.
  • Fluency in English.

Position Summary
The piping designer will be responsible for detailed phases of design work on major projects or total design work on projects of smaller or moderate scope.
