Position Summary

SSOE’s Project Managers lead all aspects of the design projects, including schedule, cost, budget and scope. This role is leading our client projects that are within our client programs dedicated to chemical lab/offices. The size of our projects in these industries range in size, scope and complexity; no two projects are alike and each will bring its own unique challenge and solution.

SSOE doesn’t stop when the project is completed, using our Lessons Learned process to continually improve. After each of our projects, our project teams take a look back at what was good and what can we learn from on each project, to ensure we are always providing the client with the best possible experience. Using 70 years’ experience is how SSOE has arrived at our current project processes, procedures and best practices for excellent total project delivery.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Initiate and run stakeholder coordination meetings along with interdisciplinary staff project coordination meetings.
  • Create, update, and maintain project budgets.
  • Administer contractual obligations between client and team.
  • Create and process information flow (RFI’s, Submittals, Review Comments, etc.).
  • Maintain communication cadence and type with key stakeholders utilizing best practices for document control.
  • Maintain client and company safety standards.
  • Responsible for adherence to project timetable(s) and the financial success of the project. This includes regular updates to project Earned Value (EV), attending Executive Project Reviews, and reporting project status to the team.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree / DIRECT / 3-5
OSHA 10/30-hour Construction Certificate preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor or Masters Degree in Engineering preferred or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required Project Management knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Registration, including CAPM or PMP Certification, preferred.
  • Previous 5 years experience, in design and construction industry, with at least 2 years in Project Management.
  • Ability to effectively manage, control and track the financial aspects of a project.
  • Must possess strong and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Due to the travel involved in this role, a Valid US driver’s license and ability to qualify for company’s insurance required.
