Position Summary

SSOE is looking for a individual who will work closely with Business Unit and Facilities Division leadership in a position focused on business development (Account Executive) in support of SSOE’s priority focus on the growth of Industrial Manufacturing and Automotive sector business in the SE USA and Gulf States.

The ideal candidate should have 8+ years of experience in the industrial manufacturing sector related business, have a clear understanding of the market, supply chain, understand key influences, trends, etc. Established client relationships and/or accounts as well as relationships with local economic development groups would be a major plus. Engineering and/or Project Management background also a plus if combined with significant business development experience. This individual will be tasked to pursue, secure and maintain new accounts with tier 1, 2 or 3 industrial manufacturing companies. Ability to mine for contacts, make connections and grow relationships with resulting project opportunities is key.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Builds relationships with Industrial Clients, at the level necessary for securing projects for the Business Unit. This includes developing relationships at all levels of the client’s organization (project level, executive level, and procurement).
  • Understands SSOE’s services scope, key competence and capability to better present SSOE to potential clients. This with early mentoring from current staff.
  • Understand the pros and cons of different project delivery approaches and know how to explain it to potential clients.
  • Makes sales calls and presentations to develop new clients and secure work for SSOE.
  • Assesses the potential client/SSOE fit. Makes recommendation to continue or not to pursue the potential client.
  • Leads the competitive proposal process to develop a strategy and highlight SSOE’s competitive differentiators in the proposal stage. Clearly demonstrates the Value SSOE will bring the client.
  • Identifies and defines initial project opportunities. Maintains opportunity pipeline and contacts in continuous pursuit of award.
  • Works with Operations to assure appropriate responses are secured to support project opportunities.
  • Ability to monitor customer service and assist with dispute/issues resolution.

Minimum Education and Experience

None Specified / DIRECT / 8+
OSHA 10/30-hour Construction Certificate preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction, or Business would be a plus
  • 8+ years of Engineering, or relative Industrial Manufacturing Experience. Must have experience selling professional services (not products). Experience in or demonstrated clear understanding of A/E PCM industry is a major plus.
  • Has clear understanding of the market, supply chain. Understands key influences, trends, A/E competition etc. Ability to perform general market research.
  • Pre-established contacts in the industrial manufacturing would be a major plus.
  • Ability to initiate new introductions and cultivate lasting client relationships. Proven track record of lasting fruitful business relationships.
  • Good verbal/written communication and organizational skills in English.
  • Self-motivated and results driven.
  • Must be willing to travel (locally and regionally) to develop strong client relationships.
  • Due to the travel involved with this role, valid Driver’s License and ability to qualify for company auto insurance required.
