Position Summary

The Senior Electrical Engineer will coordinate with the US team to develop drawing packages as well as scope documents and specifications for projects in both the US and Mexico. The ideal candidate will have a degree in electrical engineering, with 4 to 10 years of relevant professional experience.

Ability to work within project budgets and schedules, Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time, Organizational capabilities, including coordinating work with other disciplines.

Experienced in design of low & medium voltage industrial power distributions systems including motor controls, power systems studies, protective device coordination, short circuit analysis, and arc flash techniques. Familiar with consultant business practices and ideally some experience in a manufacturing facility. Coordinate with Department Manager, Section Manager and Team Leaders for technical solutions, conceptual design, manpower and staffing needs. Work with project managers and other engineers to develop project plans and scopes. Work with client engineers to make sure designs meet the client needs.

Willingness to work above and below position title as project needs dictate.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interface with client and assist with scope development activities.
  • Develop construction drawing packages including project scopes of work and specifications.
  • Prepare technical proposals.
  • Prepare Bill of Materials
  • Act as a coach and mentor, while and providing direction to designers and junior level staff

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree / DIRECT / 6-8
OSHA 10/30-hour Construction Certificate preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 4 to 10 years of experience designing electrical systems for industrial facilities. Previous experience working at a consulting firm is highly desired.
  • Effective communication, organization and problem solving skills
  • Excellent bilingual English-Spanish
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD platforms with emphasis on Revit. Good understanding of electrical design and AutoCAD tools.
  • Knowledge of Mexican and International codes.
  • Direct experience developing construction documents is required.
  • Good knowledge of NEC and experience with study software (SKM, EasyPower or ETAP).
