Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform engineering calculations.
  • Correspond with client regarding project requirements.
  • Past experience as structural lead, in addition to assisting other engineers on projects.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other disciplines on projects.
  • Perform proposal work; determine project scope and provide hours for discipline tasks.
  • Supervise designers and junior level staff during production of drawings.
  • Develop sections and details.
  • Review and advise on shop drawings.
  • Respond and give clarity to construction-related questions.

Position Type: Regular Full-Time
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree / DIRECT / 8+ OSHA 10/30-hour Construction Certificate preferred.
 
   
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience in structural steel design, including truss analysis and design.
  • Knowledge and working experience in reinforced and unreinforced concrete design.
  • Experience in load bearing and non-load bearing masonry design.
  • Experience with building codes and structural standards / regulations.
  • Previous functional experience with either STAAD, RISA 3D, or RAM Elements.
  • Experience with strengthening existing structures.

Position Summary
SSOE Group is currently looking for structural engineers experienced in structural design of a wide variety of general buildings, industrial buildings, power generating facilities, and / or process foundation systems. Previous experience in building codes and structural design standards is required. Must display effective communication and leadership skills for large / medium / small structural projects. PE or SE required.
