Project Profile: Nuclear Regulatory Agency New Campus

When a national security client embarked on a new site with multiple facilities, SSOE was enlisted to lead design efforts for all Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) and structural systems. With a large multidisciplined team in place, and innovative use of Revit 2011 in its 3D BIM design efforts, SSOE proved to be an integral engineering provider to the project.

Project Profile: Fast-track LEED® Certifiable New Store

As part of the Army and Air Force’s initiative to construct all new buildings to green standards, the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) made plans for a new, sustainable retail facility on the Randolph Air Force Base in Texas. The one stop, state-of-the-art facility, serving more than 50,000 active, reserve, and retired military personnel and their dependents, was one of the first AAFES facilities to pursue LEED Silver certification. It was also part of the USGBC’s pilot program to develop LEED guidelines for the retail industry. SSOE spearheaded the design of the 167,000 SF facility with a food court, sales area, specialty vendors, onsite fuel stations, outdoor lifestyle areas, and a loading dock, while also leading LEED certification efforts.

As part of an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, SSOE is providing multi-discipline design services to four Veteran Affairs (VA) medical centers. These facilities serve the healthcare needs of more than 700,000 area veterans. Ranked among the top healthcare architects in the nation by Modern Healthcare, SSOE was chosen for its extensive experience and unique understanding of healthcare as well as government facilities.

Project Profile: Powertrain Transmission Facility and Process Installation Design

When the Anniston Army Depot (ANAD) and the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) embarked on a project to consolidate the transmission remanufacturing process for all tracked military vehicles it serviced into a new, world class manufacturing facility, they enlisted SSOE to provide full facility architectural and engineering design services, as well as equipment migration design for the new facility.
