Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, October 5, 2011 – SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), an international engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) firm, announced today that one of their healthcare experts has been selected to present at the Health Facility Institute’s (HFI) 22nd Annual Healthcare Facility Project Development Symposium, October 23 -27, 2011 in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
Total Cost of Ownership includes first costs and operating costs. The operating cost of a healthcare facility is far larger than first cost and is typically the focus of sustainable design principles. However, traditional sustainable design ignores the largest portion of healthcare facility operating costs: personnel. A truly sustainable healthcare organization will look beyond reductions to utility costs and address the entire operating cost structure. The presentation, “The Sustainable Holy Grail: Reducing Total Cost of Ownership” will focus on the application of industrial engineering techniques to programming, planning, design and operation of a healthcare facility with the goal of improving productivity while maintaining excellence in healthcare delivery.
SSOE’s David Verner, RA, Senior Vice President and IET’s Timothy Stansfield, PE, PhD,Chief Executive Officer are scheduled to present at 1:15p.m. on October 26, 2011.
