Project Profile: Multiple Site Pipeline Upgrade

Value Promise: Coordinated the procurement of all the required material for the entire project and assured that all material arrived to the site on time. This helped maintain the project schedule, quality of installation, and in turn cost savings.

When DTE Energy needed to meet increased market demand for gas distribution, while ensuring adherence to government safety regulations, SSOE was secured to provide design for a multiple site pipeline project. With vast expertise in pipeline and gas industry design, and a solid reputation for executing procurement for similar projects, the firm provided designs for five client sites, including a meter station, two gate stations, and two mainline valve stations.

SSOE’s project scope included the following:

Hudsonville Meter Station and Burlingame Gate Station
- Detailed design of site electrical service and development of one-line diagrams.
- Sized back-up generator, created bid package for generator, processed bids and procured generator package for owner.
- Detailed design of lighting and power for three buildings.
- Detailed design of lighting, power and heat-tracing for filter-separators and storage tanks, which were classified locations.
- Design of site lighting, cathodic protection and grounding system.
- Creation of detailed material lists and references.
- Creation of electrical area classification maps.
- Detailed design of site electrical service and development of one-line diagrams.

Additionally, SSOE managed a $1 million procurement package for the Jamestown District Regulator project. SSOE determined the required project materials and possible vendors, wrote and distributed RFPs, evaluated vendor bids, and wrote purchase order requisitions adhering to DTE Energy standards. The firm also handled all follow-up with selected vendors to set delivery schedules, coordinated delivery, and resolved any discrepancies.
