Since 2004, SSOE has been providing this chemical manufacturer with design and start-up support for a series of complex facility expansions. SSOE’s data / fire / security team provided complete design of telecommunications, LAN, WAN, MAN security, access control, CCTV, fire alarm, sound, paging, and mass notification systems as well as an extensive fiber optic network. This network, which consists of thousands of strands of single and multi-mode fiber and required installation of more than 30 miles of fiber, serves the client’s telecommunications, data, and process communications needs.

SSOE was selected by Volkswagen to oversee architecture, engineering, and construction management for its new, greenfield production facility in Chattanooga. As part of the project, SSOE was responsible for the campus’ entire fire alarm system and access control and CCTV systems in selected buildings.

When the client decided to consolidate its existing R&D facilities into one technical center, they called upon SSOE’s extensive automotive and R&D experience. As part of the project, SSOE designed the data, communication, fire alarm, and security systems for the campus including the data, network, and voice systems for a 340,000 SF R&D building as well as several state-of-the-art video conference and projection rooms. SSOE also designed a tier-4, 3,250 SF data center and back-up power system to support the data and server needs.
