Nashville’s Stratford STEM Magnet High School Renovation Project Receives LEED® Silver Certification with Design and LEED® Consultation by SSOE Group

NASHVILLE, Tennessee, May 10, 2017 – SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), a global project delivery firm for architecture, engineering, and construction management, is proud to announce the successful LEED® certification of Stratford STEM Magnet School. A public school in Nashville, Tennessee, operated by Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, the facility can house up to 1,200 full-time students in grades 9 – 12. Last month, it received LEED Silver certification under the LEED BD+C: Schools (v2009) rating system from the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building certification program. Laboratory Design Magazine Article: “A Lab Focused on Seeking Justice”

Craig Pickerel, Project Manager and Architect at SSOE Group, was recently published in Laboratory Design Magazine. The article highlights the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) lab at BGSU for which SSOE provided all design services. Designed for adaptability, the 28,330 SF one-of-a-kind facility offers various specialized services to Ohio’s criminal justice agencies, while serving as a valuable resource for BGSU criminal justice and forensic science students. SSOE’s team was challenged to create accessible, changeable, unit-specific spaces that invite collaboration. The result is a new and improved testing facility, methodically designed with expansion, sustainability, and local materials in mind — delivered through a remarkably lean process that saved the client more than $900,000 in contingencies.
