Position Summary

SSOE Group is currently seeking an experienced Architect to join one of several office locations. This position will support large scale industrial and manufacturing projects. As part of an international design firm, you will leverage design and coordination software to provide value based design for our world-class clients. Our Architects at SSOE are the creative drivers that work closely with our project teams, project managers and clients. From proposal throughout the design process and construction, to the close out and project completion, the Architectural team is key in keeping the client’s scope in sight.

At SSOE, our senior Architects are considered Subject Matter Experts, and help establish process, procedures, work flow along with mentoring and guiding the staff on projects. That is why we arm our employees with current relevant industry knowledge to keep our collaborative teams on the cutting edge of their discipline. Our company engages in a variety of industrial, distribution, commercial, food-processing, and manufacturing projects with a concentration on large scale industrial facilities across the North American and International markets.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support all phases of the architectural design process with various delivery methods.
  • Responsible for solid, finished plans and specifications and final acceptance or rejection of items involving materials, equipment, manufacturer’s quality, and field construction results.
  • Continual collaboration with on-site and remote staff including daily team check-in and regular department and project related meetings.
  • Represents the firm in meetings and conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate a project. May have liaison with individuals within and outside the firm.
  • Applicants will have opportunities for mentoring staff and will be expected to assist with developing a team through future growth.
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to handle several different work directives at once and apply creative problem-solving principles to generate practical solutions.
  • Will operate in an inter-disciplinary environment and be responsive to the needs of multiple persons and projects.
  • Goal-oriented assignments, with strong interest in development and refinement of the design and study process.
  • Must also recognize the importance of fiscal and environmental stewardship of resources of the Department, Company and Clients.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree / DIRECT / 6-8

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor of Architecture Degree, or Masters Degree in Architecture required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience as an Architect.
  • Bilingual – Korean and English preferred.
  • Experience in completing complex architectural projects with Autodesk Revit. Knowledge of other Autodesk applications including BIM360 is a plus.
  • Desire to display and develop skills and initiative through problem-solving, strategic thinking, and discovering solutions.
  • The ability to communicate digitally, verbally and in writing with local and international team members.
  • Develop and use basic knowledge of local and international building codes, materials, and building systems.
  • Good computer interface skills (PC) including Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of LEED and Sustainable Design practices is a plus.
