Position Summary

The SSOE Architecture Team is looking to expand our capacity to deliver innovative and creative design solutions for our diverse global clients. We are looking for talented architecture staff that are adept in establishing new paradigms and mental models of what healthcare, commercial and higher education facilities can be, and then have the drive and passion to realize those paradigms with a variety or digital authoring tools.

Through a recent acquisition, 100-year-old Stevens & Wilkinson (S&W) and sister interior design studio IDEA|SPAN have joined SSOE’s national platform to enhance the firm’s excellence in architecture, engineering, and interior design services.

We also seek individuals that are willing to embrace Lean Design and Construction principles to support SSOE Group’s Lean Journey toward providing our clients exceptional value.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Completes entry level assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities.
  • Applies academic knowledge and training in the use of various building materials and systems.
  • Works under the direction of a project architect; receives specific and detailed instruction as to required tasks and results.
  • Performs architectural assignments, compiles data, performs simple design studies and evaluations, estimates quantity take-offs, and assists in preparation of cost estimates with increasing responsibility based on performance.
  • Drafts own and others designs into completed working drawings.
  • May be assisted by a CADD designer but usually assumes no responsibility for direction of others.
  • Travel required.
  • Valid driver’s license required. May be waived for international assignments.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree / ENTRY / 0-2

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must have a Bachelor of Architecture or Masters’ of Architecture degree.
  • Candidates should be able to produce sensible and pragmatic design solutions.
  • Ability to hand sketch in addition to produce Revit drawings/models.
  • Desire to display and develop skills and initiative through problem-solving, strategic thinking, and discovering solutions.
  • The ability to communicate digitally, verbally and in writing with local and international team members.
  • Exercises judgment in developing project details, and selects and develops preliminary alternatives.
  • Good computer interface skills (PC) including 3D modeling. Knowledge of Bentley and Autodesk products is a definite plus.
  • Develop and use basic knowledge of building codes, materials and building systems
