Our team is looking for a senior-level electrical engineering section manager to be a project leader who would be a “go-to person” for some of our larger and more complicated projects. In addition, you would work with staff on career progression and coaching in the Southeast Regional offices. You would report to a department manager and work with them for staffing assignments and many other activities.

This role is open for consider for the following office locations: Brentwood, Tennessee; Birmingham, Alabama; Huntsville, Alabama.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides staffing and resources such that the discipline captain can meet project requirements.
  • Reviews, modifies, and approves discipline work plan for each project.
  • Reviews and approves discipline captain’s project change orders prior to submitting to project manager.
  • Responsible for section employee relations activities with the assistance of the Human Resources Department.
  • Required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment on discipline projects.
  • Verifies that the discipline captain has defined the Quality, Budget, and Schedule (QBS) requirements for each project and monitors progress to ensure the QBS key measures are met.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree
8+ years experience
OSHA 10/30-hour Construction Certificate preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Engineering with minimum of 8 years related experience or 10 to 12 years direct experience.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license required. Has sealed discipline documents for various projects.
  • Prior experience preparing and monitoring project work schedules and projected workload schedules for department.
  • Experience in identifying strengths and weaknesses of section personnel to identify and prioritize training needs. Develops and implements section training program with the assistance of the Learning and Development Department.
  • Has the ability to ensure the technical competency and quality of work performed by staff.
  • Prior experience coaching, directing, coordinating, facilitating, and supervising section personnel, including all employment and employee relations activities.
  • May be requested to engage in international assignments.
  • Has previous experience with customer maintenance and business development activities and assists project managers in preparing proposals.
  • Due to travel requirements for this role. You must have a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain company insurance coverage.
