We are seeking a talented mechanical designer for our Energy, Glass, Chemical, Manufacturing design team. As an international design firm, you will work with a USA based team providing mechanical design support and equipment integration for a wide range of projects and clients.

An ideal candidate will be a proven self-starter that demonstrates strong leadership and comprehension skills. Due to the international team structure, the ability to communicate will be key to success.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs Mechanical or Glass Furnace design, with increasing responsibility, under the direction of a project engineer / architect or department manager.
  • Works from both own designs and designs of others, compiles data, performs design computations, makes quantity take-offs, and assists in preparation of cost estimates.
  • Drafts interpretation of own design into completed working drawings and applies design fundamentals
  • Develops project details, prepares selections and adapts to alternatives.
  • Maintains working knowledge of the discipline’s codes and studies non-routine code issues.
  • Performs production of construction documents
  • Performs routine design calculations for the review of the project engineer / architect and prepares basic layouts.
  • May direct the drafting effort, within own discipline and coordinate work effort with other disciplines.
  • May research equipment selection or materials and provide information to project engineer / architect for specifications.

Minimum Education and Experience

Associate’s Degree / RELATED / 3-5
OSHA 10/30-hour Construction Certificate preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Associate degree with 3-5 years of experience or 8+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor is required.
  • Advanced English communication is required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to actively engage with staff outside of local office.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally.
