Position Summary

SSOE is hiring a Project Manager to fill a strategic need in our Energy, Glass, Chemical
& Manufacturing business unit. This position can be located in Toledo, Columbus, or Alliance, OH.

An ideal candidate will have knowledge of glass and metals industries, as well as experience in project definition, development, and estimating. The applicant must have previous experience as a Project Manager with a proven track record of delivering manufacturing capital projects. Key responsibilities of the position include project/program planning, stakeholder management and leadership of an engineering team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure efficient project execution with regard to scope, schedule, budget, and quality through regular interface with internal resources, and client contacts.
  • Responsible for coordinating activities and setting priorities of the project team.
  • Ensure participation and alignment of appropriate internal and external stakeholders for each project.
  • Ensure that all process/facility engineering is checked, meets relevant standards, and satisfies project success criteria.
  • Coordinate business development activities with client contacts including proposal preparation and assisting with definition of capital projects.
  • Complete resource management activities such as identifying skills and qualifications required by the work, communicating needs to management.
  • Direct responsibility for executing projects with regard to scope, schedule and budget with focus on multidiscipline projects .
  • Travel is required.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree / DIRECT / 8+
OSHA 10/30-hour Construction Certificate preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university required.
  • At least 5 years direct experience in managing manufacturing
    engineering projects and a total of 10 years experience in engineering and/or project management.
  • Experience in managing engineering projects with fees over $250,000.
  • Experience in the glass industry and metals industry a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated self-start committed to the delivery of quality products and building long term profitable relationships internally and externally.
  • Effective organizational skills to coordinate multiple projects in a busy plant environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to work well in groups and across multiple offices, including international locations.
