Position Summary

At SSOE, our senior Architects are considered Subject Matter Experts, and help establish process, procedures, work flow along with mentoring and guiding the staff on projects. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of contract documents as part of a multi-discipline team for healthcare clients. Participate in architectural design development, coordination, document production.
  • Broad range of exposure through entire design and documentation process for healthcare architecture and planning projects.
  • Will prepare architectural plans and details, consults with project manufacturers, evaluates materials and may observe projects in the field.
  • Goal-oriented assignments, with strong interest in development and refinement of design and study process.
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to handle several different work directives at once and apply creative problem-solving principles to generate practical solutions.
  • Will operate in an inter-disciplinary environment and be responsive to the needs of multiple persons and projects.
  • Compiles data; performs design computations and assists with code analysis.
  • Work with new and existing clients to support business development activity.
  • Travel will be required on an as-needed basis.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree / DIRECT / 8+
OSHA 10/30-hour Construction Certificate preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Candidate must be a Registered Architect with extensive knowledge of the architecture discipline within the healthcare industry.
  • Exercises judgment in developing project details, and selects and develops preliminary alternatives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must feel comfortable working with Microsoft suite, Revit, and other applicable design software.
  • Develop and use basic knowledge of building codes, materials and building systems.
  • Ability to draft own and others designs into completed working drawings.
