SSOE provided comprehensive design and planning services for an automotive proving ground and research park. This was a phased design / construction project that started with major site development, a central utility plant, and a test facility. All systems were designed to accommodate over one million SF of building space for the phased construction and future expansions.

The 200-acre site was designed around a central axis so future expansions would be easily accommodated. SSOE worked closely with the owner and construction manager to define user needs and sequence the design packages to meet the construction program. The result is an efficient, state-of-the-art automotive research and development complex. The process included lifecycle determination and overall documentation associated with sustainable design. This project has achieved LEED Gold certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
