U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) visited SSOE on October 5th to present the firm with an Export Achievement Certificate from the U.S. Department of Commerce. According to Brown, “When it comes to exports, most people think about the manufacturing of goods—which is critical to Ohio’s economic health. But we can’t afford to overlook the export of services, which is exactly SSOE specializes in—and why they’ve been recognized as a model for exporters.”
Of the certificate, Tony Damon, CEO and President of SSOE said, “This is really an honor for us to receive this award. As international opportunities continue to increase exporting has become a large part of our growth strategy. Currently 8% of our total revenue comes from international business; we are working toward increasing that number to 25% by 2015.”
SSOE is planning several new international locations in the next year in China, India and Canada.
The Export Achievement Certificate from the U.S. Department of Commerce was created to recognize small and medium sized enterprises and organizations that have successfully entered the international marketplace.
