SSOE Group announced recently that two employees have earned accreditations and nine employees earned certifications during the third quarter of the 2010 planning year. Attainment of professional licenses and certifications are strongly encouraged. SSOE covers the expense of preparation classes and exam fees as well as providing paid time off from work to take the exam. Also, as an added incentive, once a staff member has passed an exam, they are also eligible for a recognition bonus.
Accreditations
Zach Platsis, LEED AP O+M recently earned his Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) accreditation. Platsis successfully completed the Operation + Maintenance (O+M) exam. The LEED AP O+M credential provides a standard for professionals participating in the operation and maintenance of existing buildings that implement sustainable practices and reduce the environmental impact of a building over its functional life cycle. Platsis has 12 years of industry experience and is a Senior Project Manager located in SSOE’s Toledo, Ohio office.
Rose Chen, LEED AP BD+C also recently earned her Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accreditation. Chen successfully completed the Building + Construction (B+C) exam. The LEED AP BD+C credential provides a standard for professionals participating in the design and construction phases of high-performance, healthful, durable, affordable and environmentally sound commercial, institutional, and high-rise residential buildings. Chen has 3 years of industry experience and is a Section Manager located in SSOE’s Shanghai, China office.
Certifications
Leslie Accardo, LEED AP BD+C, PMP; Scott Coe, PMP; Ken Gruenhagen, PE, PMP; Scott Hathaway, PMP; John Heidt, PMP; and Veronica Sneider, PMP, EI, recently earned their certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP). This credential, awarded by the Project Management Institute (PMI), indicates that the individual possesses the knowledge and skill necessary to lead and direct project teams, and deliver project results within the constraints of schedule, budget, and resources. Accardo is a Project Manager located in SSOE’s Troy, Michigan office with 14 years of industry experience. Coe is an Assistant Project Manager located in SSOE’s Nashville, Tennessee office with 8 years of experience. Gruenhagen is a Senior Project Manager located in SSOE’s Toledo, Ohio office with nearly 30 years of industry experience. Hathaway is a Business Leader located in SSOE’s Columbus, Ohio office with nearly 15 years of experience. Heidt is a Senior Project Manager located in SSOE’s Troy, Michigan office with 32 years of industry experience. Sneider is a Project Manager located in SSOE’s Toledo, Ohio office with 5 years of experience.
James Yerke, PE, CEM, recently earned his certification as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM). This certification, awarded by the Association of Energy Engineers, recognizes individuals who have demonstrated high levels of experience, competence, proficiency, and ethical fitness in the energy management profession. Yerke is a Mechanical Engineer in SSOE’s Toledo, Ohio office and has nearly 30 years of experience.
Danyelle Sweitzer, PHR, recently earned her certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR). This certification, awarded by the HR Certification Institute, signifies that the individual possesses the theoretical knowledge and practical experience in human resources. Sweitzer is a Human Resources Generalist for SSOE’s Alliance, Ohio office and has 10 years of experience.
Forrest Bates recently earned his certification as a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS). This certification, awarded by Microsoft, denotes the individual’s ability to successfully implement, build on, troubleshoot, and debug Microsoft’s Web Application technologies. Bates is a Senior Database and Web Programmer with 11 years of experience. He is located in SSOE’s Toledo, Ohio office.
