SSOE will Match Donations up to a Total of $1,500
TOLEDO, Ohio, March 5, 2020 – Early Tuesday morning, several severe storms produced large hail and damaging tornadoes that affected Gibson, Carroll, Benton, Davidson, Wilson, and Putnam counties in Tennessee. A large deadly tornado with wind speeds up to 165 miles per hour left an enormous path of destruction behind, resulting in 25 deaths reported to-date while search and rescue efforts continue. Additionally, it has left thousands of customers without power in these affected counties. Thankfully, employees in SSOE’s Nashville office are all safe, however, given their commitment to the communities where they are located, the company is partnering with The American Red Cross to help.
The American Red Cross is currently working with partners and has opened six shelters in Tennessee where more than a hundred people spent Tuesday night. They will continue to serve meals and snacks, and distributed relief items like clean-up kits, rakes, shovels, bleach, garbage bags, and much more to help with the massive clean-up effort.
Please join SSOE and their employees in helping those who have been affected by this disaster. Please give today by visiting redcross.org/donate/cm/ssoegroup-emp.html and choose Southern Tornadoes & Floods under “I Want to Support”. SSOE will match donations up to a total of $1,500. Your gift to the American Red Cross will support emergency relief efforts.
Additionally, members of the SSOE Nashville office will be supporting the recovery and clean-up effort by volunteering with Hands On Nashville (HON), a non-profit whose mission is to meet community needs through volunteerism. For this effort, HON is working closely with the City of Nashville and the Office of Emergency Management to ensure all of the available resources are in place to help the community in the wake of these destructive tornadoes. They will be sharing more details about specific volunteer opportunities as they learn those details from the city. If you are interested in volunteering for this cause sign up here, and HON will follow-up with more information.
