SSOE Group Announces Employee Registrations and Certifications for First Quarter of Planning Year 2016

TOLEDO, Ohio, January 15, 2016 – SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), a global engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) firm, announced today that one of their employees earned a professional registration and ten additional employees earned professional certifications during the first and second quarters of SSOE’s 2016 planning year. Attainment of professional licensures is strongly encouraged at SSOE. In fact, the company covers the expense of preparation classes and exam fees as well as provides paid time off to take the exam. As an added incentive, once a staff member has passed an exam, they are awarded a recognition bonus.

Registrations

Samuel Kunkle, RA, recently earned his architectural licensure, which required him to pass the Architect Registration Exam and complete the Intern Development Program (IDP). The IDP is approximately 3 years of on-the-job experience consisting of training units in 16 different categories. The Architect Registration Exam evaluates a candidate’s knowledge, skill, and ability to provide the various services required in the practice of architecture. Sam graduated from The Ohio State University with a Master of Art in Architecture following a Bachelor of Art from Miami University. He has over 10 years of industry experience and works in SSOE’s Toledo, Ohio office.

Certifications

Kevin Sturmer recently earned his AutoCAD Certified Professional credentials. In addition to AutoCAD, he is skilled in Revit, Navisworks®, and SketchUp™. Kevin graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and earned an Associate of Science (equiv.) in Electronics from the United States Air Force. Kevin has over 15 years in architecture and sustainable design experience and works as a BIM / CAD technical specialist in SSOE’s Portland (Hillsboro), Oregon office.

Richard Bryant, RCDD, Telecommunications Systems Designer, recently earned his Information Communications Technology (ICT) Design Fundamentals certification in grounding and bonding. Rick is a Registered Communications Distribution Design (RCDD) engineer with an associate degree from Ferris State University and nearly 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. His background includes design and implementation of network installations involving voice, data, LAN, CCTV, point of sale networks, and integrated building management systems. He works in SSOE’s Toledo, Ohio office.

Kevin Connolly, PE, recently earned his LEED Green Associate certification in mechanical engineering. In addition to being an authority on current green building principles and practices, Kevin has nearly 10 years of power industry experience. Connolly graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology and works in SSOE’s Cincinnati, Ohio office.

Jennifer Gottwald, PHR, SHRM-CP, Benefits Coordinator, recently earned her Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Certified Professional credentials. Jennifer graduated from the University of Findlay with a Master of Art in Business Administration following a Bachelor of Art from Capital University. She currently works in SSOE’s Toledo, Ohio office.

OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry Certification

To receive an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-Hour Construction Industry certification, each recipient must complete the OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training Program, which is intended to provide an entry level construction worker with general awareness on recognizing and preventing hazards on a construction site.

Jennifer Breault, AIA LEED AP BD+C, recently earned her OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry certification. Jennifer is a registered architect with over 15 years of experience, currently working in SSOE’s León, Mexico office. She is responsible for the architectural design of new and renovated facilities for a variety of client types, as well as LEED® management and sustainable design coordination on large construction projects. Jennifer graduated from Lawrence Technological University with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, and has an additional diploma in architecture, as well as certification in AutoCAD, from St. Clair Community College.

Vijay Rakate recently earned his OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry certification. Vijay graduated from George Washington University with a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering following a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pune. He has over 10 years of industry experience and currently works in SSOE’s Toledo, Ohio office.

Erika Randolph, PE, recently earned her OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry certification. Erika graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and works in SSOE’s Toledo, Ohio office. With nearly 10 years of experience, she specializes in hydraulic analysis and storm water management, along with sanitary sewer, water supply, and roadway design within the industrial, commercial, educational, and residential industries.

Carl Shelton, Jr., recently earned his OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry certification. Carl has an Associate of Applied Science from Southern Ohio College and has over 25 years of industry experience. He works as an electrical designer in SSOE’s Cincinnati, Ohio office where he uses his exceptional knowledge of Revit® MEP and AutoCAD® MEP to support engineering ideas for electrical design.

Project Management Professional Certification

PMP® certification, awarded by the Project Management Institute (PMI), indicates that the individual possesses the knowledge and skill necessary to lead and direct project teams, and deliver project results within the constraints of schedule, budget, and resources.

Nathan Kirwen, PMP, Assistant Project Manager, recently earned his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Nate graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He has 8 years of experience, most of which is in the automotive and industrial facilities fields where he has worked as both project manager and structural engineer. He currently works in SSOE’s Lima, Ohio office.

Rakesh Kumar, PMP, also earned his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Rakesh graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur and has over 10 years of industry experience, which includes distillery / brewery and automotive. Rakesh works as a project manager in SSOE’s Mumbai, India office.
