TOLEDO, Ohio, October 16, 2013 – SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), a global engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) firm, announced today that two employees attained professional licensure during the fourth quarter of their 2013 planning year. To encourage professional development, SSOE covers the expense of preparation classes and exam fees as well as providing paid time off to take the exam. As an additional incentive, once a staff member has passed an exam, they receive a recognition bonus.
Jessica Thering, PE recently received her professional engineering license upon successful completion of the Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam which measures a candidate’s academic and practical knowledge of technical engineering. Candidates are eligible to take the exam after meeting statutory requirements including a minimum of four years of acceptable work experience. Thering is a graduate of the Michigan Technological Institute with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. She has11 years of experience and works in SSOE’s Midland, Michigan office.
Juli Sala, LEED AP earned his LEED accreditation after successfully completing the “LEED for New Construction” exam. The LEED Accredited Professional exam is offered by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and designates that an individual has earned the knowledge and skills necessary to facilitate the LEED certification process. Sala began his career as a co-op student with SSOE in 2009 and upon graduation from Purdue University in 2011 became a full time employee. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and is based in SSOE’s Troy, Michigan office.
