TOLEDO, Ohio, April 10, 2014 – SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), a global engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) firm, announced today that three employees earned professional registrations and two employees earned professional certification during the second quarter of their 2014 planning year. Attainment of professional licensure is strongly encouraged at SSOE. In fact, the company covers the expense of preparation classes and exam fees as well as providing paid time off to take the exam. As an additional incentive, once a staff member has passed an exam, they receive a recognition bonus.
Justin Fields, PE; Michell Miller, PE; and David Woods, PE, all from SSOE’s Nashville, Tennessee office, recently received their professional engineering licenses. All three individuals successfully completed the Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam that measures a candidate’s academic and practical knowledge of technical engineering. Candidates are eligible to take the exam after meeting statutory requirements including a minimum of four years of acceptable work experience.
- Justin Fields has five years of experience and is a graduate of the Tennessee Technological University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- Michell Miller is a graduate of the Ohio State University and is a structural engineer with six years of experience.
- David Woods has12 years of experience and received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Tennessee Technological University.
Troy Luttrell, CSMP, earned his certification as a Certified Safety Management Practitioner. This certification, awarded by the Institute for Safety and Health Management (ISHM), recognizes individuals who have attained a level of knowledge, training, and experience to competently manage a safety and health program. Luttrell joined SSOE in 2011 and serves as a Safety Coordinator in SSOE’s Portland, Oregon office.
Blair Watson, EI, BPAC, recently earned her Building Performance Analysis Certificate from Autodesk University. This certification indicates the individual has the advanced knowledge and understanding to design truly energy efficient and high-performance buildings using the latest software tools. Watson received her Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama and has 12 years of experience. She works in SSOE’s Birmingham, Alabama office.
