TOLEDO, Ohio, April 25, 2017 – SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), a global project delivery firm for architecture, engineering, and construction management, announced today that one of its employees earned a professional registration and nine employees earned professional certifications during the second quarter of SSOE’s 2017 planning year. Attainment of professional licensures and certifications is strongly encouraged at SSOE. In fact, the company covers the expense of preparation classes and exam fees as well as provides paid time off to take the exam. As an added incentive, once an employee has passed an exam, they are awarded a recognition bonus.

Andrew Koch, PE, Mechanical Engineer, recently received his professional engineering (PE) licensure upon successfully completing the Principles and Practice of Engineering exam, which measures a candidate’s academic and practical knowledge of technical engineering. Candidates are eligible to take the exam after meeting statutory requirements, including a minimum of 4 years of acceptable work experience. Andy graduated from LeTourneau University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He has nearly 5 years of experience and works in SSOE’s Portland, Oregon office.

Project Management Professional Certification
Matthew Paterson, PE, PMP, Senior Electrical Engineer, recently earned his Project Management Professionals (PMP) certification. A PMP® certification, awarded by the Project Management Institute (PMI), indicates that the individual possesses the knowledge and skill necessary to lead and direct project teams, and deliver project results within the constraints of schedule, budget, and resources. Matt has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Wayne State University and more than 12 years of experience, which includes providing electrical design for new and renovation projects in healthcare, higher education, airport, and infrastructure administration. He works in SSOE’s Troy, Michigan office.
OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry Certification
To receive an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-Hour Construction Industry certification, each recipient must complete the OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training Program, which is intended to provide an entry level construction worker with general awareness on recognizing and preventing hazards on a construction site.
Emily Bolbach, Data / Fire / Security Engineer, recently earned her OSHA 10-hour Construction Industry certification. Emily has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology from the University of Toledo and nearly 5 years of experience. She works in SSOE’s Toledo, Ohio office.
Gregory Fischer, Industrial Engineer and Project Manager, recently earned his OSHA 10-hour Construction Industry certification. Greg has more than 25 years of experience, which includes semiconductor factory layout, construction, integration, and factory sustaining, and has both a Master and Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Oregon State University. He works in SSOE’s Portland, Oregon office.
Kyle Gable, Electrical Controls Designer, recently earned his OSHA 10-hour Construction Industry certification. A recent University of Toledo graduate, Kyle has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and works in SSOE’s Toledo, Ohio office.
Shonn Monday, Mechanical Designer, recently earned his OSHA 10-hour Construction Industry certification. Shonn started at SSOE as a student intern. He graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Shonn now has nearly 5 years of experience and works in SSOE’s Toledo, Ohio office. Additionally, he is a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army National Guard.
Kiet Nguyen, BIM / CAD Technical Coordinator, recently earned his OSHA 10-hour Construction Industry certification. Kiet has nearly 5 years of experience and works in SSOE’s Santa Clara, California office.
Adam Pomorski, Purchasing Manager, recently earned his OSHA 10-hour Construction Industry certification. Adam has more than 15 years of experience, which includes subcontract administration, negotiation, and proposal development. He graduated from the University of Toledo with a Master of Business Administration in Acquisition following a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources Management from Strayer University and works in SSOE’s Troy, Michigan office.
Jeremy Roosen, Data / Fire / Security Designer, recently earned his OSHA 10-hour Construction Industry certification. Jeremy has more than 10 years of experience, which includes designing and coordination of access control, video surveillance, data communications, fire alarm, and security systems, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Fachschule Schwäbisch Hall. He works in SSOE’s Toledo, Ohio office.
Richard Smatlak, Electrical Controls Designer, recently earned his OSHA 10-hour Construction Industry certification. Rick has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology from the University of Toledo and more than 35 years of experience, which includes controls system design, PLC programming, and field start-up involving multiple processors, operator interfaces, and data highway / Ethernet PLC communications. He works in SSOE’s Toledo, Ohio office.
