TOLEDO, Ohio, November 17, 2011 – SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), an international engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) firm, announced today that six employees have earned certifications during the fourth quarter of their 2011 planning year. Attainment of professional licensure is strongly encouraged at SSOE. In fact, the company covers the expense of preparation classes and exam fees as well as providing paid time off to take the exam. Also, as an added incentive, once a staff member has passed an exam, they receive a recognition bonus.
Carlos Valenzuela, CCM, recently earned his certification as a Certified Construction Manager (CCM). This certification, awarded by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI), indicates that the individual has met the prescribed criteria of the CCM program with regard to formal education, field experience, and demonstrated capability and understanding of the Construction Management body of knowledge. Valenzuela is a department manager in SSOE’s Nashville, Tennessee office and has 17 years of experience.
Dan Gellings, RA, PMP; Cathy Kusnier, PE, PMP; and Dave Mast, PE, PMP all earned their certification as Project Management Professionals (PMP) during the last quarter. This certification, awarded by the Project Management Institute (PMI), indicates that the individual possesses the knowledge and skill necessary to lead and direct project teams and deliver project results within the constraints of schedule, budget, and resources. Gellings is a senior project manager in SSOE’s Troy, Michigan office and has 29 years of experience. Kusnier is a senior project manager in SSOE’s Toledo, Ohio office and has 30 of experience. Mast is a senior project manager in SSOE’s Toledo, Ohio office and has 20 years of experience.
Gerald Hoffman, PE, CPESC, recently earned his certification as a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC). This certification, awarded by the CPESC, Inc., indicates that the individual has been recognized as a specialist in soil erosion and sediment control. CPESCs have educational training, demonstrated expertise, experience in controlling erosion and sedimentation, and meet certification standards. Hoffman is a civil engineer in SSOE’s Columbus, Ohio office and has eight years of experience.
Donna Richardson, CTE, recently earned her certification as a Corporate Travel Expert (CTE). This certification, awarded by the Global Business Travel Association (GTBA), signifies the individual has successfully completed the Fundamentals of Business Travel Management course which places an emphasis on maximizing cost containment, improving efficiency, and creating a managed travel culture in a company. Richardson is a travel coordinator in SSOE’s Toledo, Ohio office and has 22 years of experience.
