SSOE Group Proud to Announce Employee Registrations and Certifications for Second Quarter

TOLEDO, Ohio, April 8, 2010 – SSOE Group, one of the nation’s leading EPCM firms, announced today that four employees have earned certifications and four have earned registrations during the second quarter of their 2010 planning year.

Registrations

Doug Hughes, PE, and Drew Mekus, PE, recently earned their professional engineering license. Both successfully completed the “Principles and Practice of Engineering” (PE) exam that measures the candidate’s academic and practical knowledge of technical engineering. Candidates are eligible to take the exam after meeting statutory requirements that include a minimum of four years of acceptable work experience. Hughes is a Structural Engineer located in SSOE’s Nashville, Tennessee office and has five years of experience. Mekus is a Chemical Engineer located in SSOE’s Toledo, Ohio office and has six years of experience.

Curt Panizzoli, RA, NCARB, and Kevin Pickerel, RA, LEED AP, recently earned their architectural license. Both had to pass the Architect Registration Exam, have a professional degree from an NAAB-accredited program, and complete the Intern Development Program (IDP). The IDP is approximately 3 years of on the job experience consisting of training units in 16 different categories. The Architect Registration Exam evaluates candidate’s knowledge, skills, and ability to provide the various services required in the practice of architecture. Panizzoli is an Architect located in SSOE’s Troy, Michigan office and has 26 years of experience. Pickerel is an Architect located in SSOE’s Phoenix, Arizona office and has 13 years of experience.

Certifications

Denese Adams, SPHR, recently earned her certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). This certification, awarded by the HR Certification Institute, signifies that the individual possess the theoretical knowledge and practical experience in human resource management. Adams is a Human Resources Manager for SSOE’s Troy, Michigan office and has 16 years of experience.

Joe Gerweck, LEED AP, PMP, and Brian Tobey, PMP, recently earned their certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP). This certification, awarded by the Project Management Institute (PMI), indicates that the individual possesses the knowledge and skill necessary to lead and direct project teams, and deliver project results within the constraints of schedule, budget, and resources. Gerweck is a Project Manager located in SSOE’s Toledo, Ohio office with nine years of industry experience. Tobey is a Senior Project Manager located on-site at Volkswagen of American in Chattanooga, Tennessee; he has 30 years of experience.

Tom Janowiecki, AIA, NCARB, CDT, recently earned his certification as a Construction Documents Technologist (CDT). This certification, awarded by The Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), denotes the individual possesses the knowledge and understanding of construction documents and the project lifecycle. Janowiecki is a Project Architect and Senior Associate with 43 years of experience. He is located in SSOE’s Toledo, Ohio office.
