SSOE was featured in T1 Energy’s June press release announcing G2_Austin—the company’s planned $850 million, 5 GW solar cell facility in Rockdale, Texas. As the project’s engineering partner, we’re working alongside Yates Construction, selected for preconstruction services and site preparations.
SSOE supported T1 from the earliest stages, supporting the site selection and acquisition process and delivering a comprehensive due diligence report covering environmental, utility, zoning, and permitting considerations. We also provided master planning and early site development services, including mass grading and stormwater management plans and specifications—laying the groundwork for this transformative clean energy project.
With unanimous support from Milam County officials through a long-term tax abatement package, G2_Austin is expected to create up to 1,800 full-time jobs and begin production by the end of 2026. The facility is a cornerstone of T1’s strategy to strengthen the domestic solar and battery supply chain and deliver scalable, reliable, and low-cost energy to the U.S.
