
PORTLAND, Oregon, September 16, 2013 – SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), a global engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) firm, is pleased to welcome Tom Goldsmith, RCDD, as telecommunications lead in the Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Group. Tom will be located in SSOE’s Portland, Oregon, office and will develop West Coast telecommunications services for SSOE’s Advanced Technology Strategic Business Unit (SBU).
Tom, one of only 7,400 Registered Communications Distribution Designers (RCDDs) internationally, has over 32 years of experience in the implementation of communications infrastructure for large facilities. RCDDs are globally recognized within the information technology systems (ITS) industry as experts in the design, integration, and implementation of telecommunications and data communications transport systems. Tom’s extensive list of industry certifications includes data center security training, BICSI data center design and best practices, and information security awareness, to name a few.
Prior to joining SSOE, Tom worked for Jacobs Engineering. He has served as an ITS lead for scores of projects in the U.S., the U.K., the Philippines, and India for clients such as BPA, Archer Daniels Midland, Chevron Phillips Chemical Company, the Social Security Administration, Schnitzer Steel, the United States Department of Agriculture, British Petroleum, and the U.S. Department of Energy.
