SSOE Vice President Betsy Hurner Presents at Zweig Group’s 2023 M&A Next Symposium

TOLEDO, Ohio, September 14, 2023 – SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), an internationally ranked architecture and engineering firm, announced that Betsy Hurner, Vice President of Corporate Development, recently spoke at the Zweig Group’s 2023 M&A Next Symposium held on September 12-13, 2023 at the Omni PGA Frisco Resort in Frisco, Texas.

Hurner teamed up with Frank Joanlanne, Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Digital Initiatives at Verdantas, and Amber Milot Executive Vice President, Corporate Development and Operations at ECS to present “Leading with Culture: Integration Best Practices and Keeping a Recruiting Mindset through M&A” on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 2:15 p.m. This session focused on integration best practices including the importance of culture, relationship management, a recruitment mindset, and how all these factors are critical to facilitating a successful transaction when it comes to acquisitions. Zweig Group’s Director of Mergers & Acquisitions, Justin Ramirez, facilitated the panel discussion as well as an audience Question and Answer session.

As Vice President of Corporate Development at SSOE, Hurner oversees and integrates organic and inorganic growth functions including M&A, marketing, and business development. She has direct involvement in SSOE’s acquisition efforts—establishing and executing the overall program as well as success strategies for individual deals. She has served in various positions at the firm, rising through the ranks of the Marketing Department including acting as SSOE’s Director of Marketing for several years. While a part of the Marketing Department, she led branding and communication strategies for the acquisition of Evergreen EDC, a transaction that launched SSOE to become ENR’s #2 ranked designer for the booming semiconductor industry.
