South Parking Deck
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
The design services for this Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (HJAIA) South Parking Deck project was provided directly by HKS and outside the J-V On-Call Design Services agreement. This project included engineering design services for mechanical, engineering, plumbing, and fire protection, as well as contract administration services and oversight of engineering sub-consultants for constructing a new parking deck (SD1).
This project is currently in the Design Development phase with Issued for Construction (IFC) documents due December 2023. The parking deck is for covered and economy surface parking, holding approximately 6,600 and 1,510 vehicles, respectively.
Electrical services include new service entrance, power distribution equipment, emergency and optional standby systems, standby generator sized for the entire SD1, and EV charging preparation for 990 electric vehicles. Additionally, SSOE provided oversight and peer review of the sub-consultant’s fire alarm design.
Mechanical and plumbing / fire protection services include oversight and peer review of the engineering sub-consultant’s design.
