Food Engineering Article: “Food Engineering’s 2019 Plant Construction Survey Shows Tax Cuts Spur Investment”

Joe Badalamenti, PE, PMP, Senior Account Executive, and Jens Ebert, PE, PMP, Principal Division Manager at SSOE Group, were recently featured in this Food Engineering magazine article. Based on the publication’s annual survey, construction projects were on the rise in 2018 thanks to federal tax breaks, consolidation in the food and beverage industry, and the need for flexibility in production. However, fast-track production schedules created a greater need for skilled laborers, which the industry is currently lacking.

Nonetheless, this year’s survey contains some surprises. Joe and Jens, as well as other AEC experts, weigh in on what other trends they’ve experienced over the last year.

Jens has 28 years of experience in consulting engineering including more than ten years as a process / project engineer providing design solutions for a wide range of industrial, manufacturing, and food / beverage projects. With more than 30 years of experience, Joe specializes in food and beverage projects and is a leader in quality process design.
