
Firm will Exhibit with its Subject Matter Experts at Booth #5545
TOLEDO, Ohio, September 30, 2025 – SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), an internationally ranked architecture and engineering firm ranked #2 nationally in manufacturing design by Engineering News-Record, announced today two of its battery facility subject matter experts will participate in a panel discussion at The Battery Show North America. This event will take place from October 6-9, 2025, at Huntington Place in downtown Detroit, Michigan.
Inside Toyota’s Next-Gen Battery Facility
SSOE’s Kevin Kalb, PE, Mechanical Department Manager overseeing the Toyota account, and Faith Perales, LEED AP, Principal and Senior Project Manager who led the project, will join Toyota’s Scott Walker, PE, and Adam Erford, both Engineering Managers, for a panel discussion at The Battery Show. Together, they’ve collaborated to deliver Toyota’s next-generation battery facility on an expansive 1,800-acre campus in Liberty, North Carolina.
Their session, titled “From Megabattery Master Planning to Prototyping Perfection,” will explore the innovative engineering and design behind the state-of-the-art campus. The panel will take place Wednesday, October 8 at 1:15 p.m. EST in Room 142ABC at the Huntington Center.
The panel will outline the master planning process behind Toyota’s Liberty, North Carolina, battery campus, shaped by rapid advancements in battery technology and cost optimization strategies. With Perales serving as moderator, panelists will discuss the application of Lean design principles and Toyota’s process-driven approach, including the integration of its Kaizen philosophy to achieve incremental efficiencies across the project.
The session will also address the importance of leadership and collaboration, with more than 100 SSOE professionals contributing to the design of nearly 4 million SF of battery cell production space.
