SSOE Group’s Randall Holmes Appointed to AIA Greater Columbia Board

COLUMBIA, South Carolina, September 27, 2023 – SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), an internationally ranked architecture and engineering firm, is proud to announce that Randall Holmes, AIA, Associate Architect, has been named a board member of the American Institute of Architects of Greater Columbia (AIAGC).

Holmes has been an active member of AIAGC since 2013. In the past, he has volunteered with the organization by working with local schools to expose and engage students at an early age to a career in architecture. Additionally, he has served as a critic for their 2nd Year Studio Reviews at Clemson University.

“It’s an honor to be selected to serve on the AIAGC board,” said Holmes. “This marks the beginning of a journey, and I’m excited to start this new initiative. With my 12 years of industry experience, I look forward to adding value to the AIAGC in a way that will be mutually beneficial to both SSOE and AIAGC.”

Holmes has worked on a broad range of project types since graduating from Auburn University’s College of Architecture, Design, and Construction. While earning his degree, he participated in both Rural Studio and Urban Studio, which are off-campus design / build programs. Those experiences helped him to learn the value of space where individual-focused design and community-focused design meet.

Since joining SSOE, Holmes has worked on a number of projects in the K-12, government, higher education, and healthcare sectors. Skilled in design and design software, he adds a valuable level of BIM expertise to each project. His experience, technological proficiencies, and empathy make him a strong team member in aiding clients’ mission and the discovery of optimal design solutions.

AIAGC is a subsidiary of the AIA South Carolina chapter and the national American Institute of Architects. AIAGC has a membership of approximately 220 design professionals and strives to help carry out the goals of its parent organizations: being the voice of the architectural profession and the resource for its members in the service to society. AIAGC is one of six sections of AIA South Carolina.
