SSOE and Stantec were selected by Anthony Wayne School District (AWS) to provide Facility Master Planning and Design / Construction Administration services for academic and non-academic facilities in the school district. Our team completed a master-planning and Bond / Levy campaign phase by identifying priorities and necessities for each building in the district.
Our assessment findings were based on some current concerns such as: site access and traffic concerns, energy performance requirements, safety and security concerns, education technology requirements, functionality or suitability of current spaces, capacity requirements, and accessibility / ADA issues. Through this process we were able to assist the district by creating detailed programs and needs assessment for each possible phases (current, 5 to 10 years and 20 years plus), which also matches growth and demographics assessments conducted by district. In the process, SSOE also accomplished facility assessments and evaluations of all of their existing facilities. Also, SSOE developed master planning options along with estimates of probable cost associated each scenario presented.
AWS was seeking a firm with a solid plan for leading them through the master planning process and for making community engagement an important part of that process, one who has experience with renovations and additions, has a firm grasp on 21st century educational themes, and would also be sure to design energy efficient systems to provide cost savings for the school district.
SSOE is currently leading the implementation of the master plan in the district-wide rebuild.
