In a recent Lab Design News article, SSOE’s Scott Courtney, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, Business Leader, explores how emerging pharmaceutical companies can create manufacturing facilities that balance regulatory compliance, cost efficiency, and employee experience. The article emphasizes that successful facilities don’t need to be “gold-plated.” Instead, thoughtful design choices, right-sized systems, and people-focused amenities can help companies responsibly manage capital while creating workplaces that attract and retain specialized talent.
Scott has 30 years of expertise in architecture, with over two decades of that time focused on national and international GMP-compliant pharmaceutical environments design. Over his many years designing these facilities, Scott has learned and embraced the changes that have evolved in the market, while incorporating state-of-the-art features. Scott is a graduate of the University of Detroit-Mercy and holds both a master and a bachelor of architecture.
