Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) represent the three central factors used to measure the sustainability and ethical impact of a company or business.

A Note From Our CEO

Today, a company’s responsibility to their communities has become increasingly important. SSOE has embraced this philosophy to the fullest extent with our Vision: Designing and building the future for our clients, colleagues, and communities. Every project we complete, and every colleague that works at our company, impacts our communities.

When we think about our communities, it’s all-encompassing. It’s where we live. It’s where we work. It’s the school we design to teach our children around the corner. It’s the factory we design to produce vehicles that will be driven around the world.

SSOE has set specific goals for our projects and our people that will impact our communities. We are implementing technology that will allow us to execute projects 50% more efficiently ultimately reducing our company’s carbon footprint significantly. We’ve set a goal of 20 hours of community service for each of our colleagues; the equivalent of one full-time community worker for every 100 employees. Our philanthropic giving follows the organizations where our colleagues choose to volunteer—expanding their impact. These are just a few examples of the ways we are impacting the world community in our daily work.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion is also vital to our Vision and a core value at SSOE. It’s not only important how we impact our communities but also how the communities in which we work can impact us. Historically, there has been a disproportionate number of underrepresented groups in our industry. We’re working to close the gap through programs such as our community and university partnerships. We aim to engage more students in underrepresented groups to increase interest in STEM-related careers through early exposure. Our diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts are featured, along with organizational metrics, here.

I stand with our shareholders and colleagues, committed to designing and building the future for all our communities.
