SSOE Welcomes Three New Professionals to their Southeast Operations Team

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama, July 30, 2020 – SSOE Group, a global project delivery firm for architecture, engineering, and construction management, is proud to announce the addition of three new professionals to their rapidly growing Southeast operations team. They are excited to welcome Davis Burton, Amy Cope, and Alex Costakis to their healthcare, commercial, and education business unit.

 

Davis Burton, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, Project Architect, joins the team with nearly 35 years of experience in the healthcare, education, and commercial fields. His healthcare experience includes administration, building services, cardiology, catheterization labs, intensive care, dialysis, dietary, endoscopy, emergency, intensive care, medical records, obstetrics, pharmacy, rehabilitation, psychiatric, radiology, surgery, and hospice, as well as nursing homes, EMT facilities, and parking facilities. Davis’ educational experience includes primary, secondary, collegiate, and recreational facilities. He has a thorough understanding of project documents, construction administration, detailed design, scheduling work for completion, specifications writing, management, and detailed code. Davis has a Bachelor of Architecture Design from Auburn University and is a Registered Architect in the state of Alabama. He will be working out of SSOE’s Birmingham, Alabama office.

Amy Cope, IIDA, RID, EDAC, NCIDQ, Section Manager, joins SSOE with a strong healthcare interior design and project management background. With over 17 years of experience in healthcare, ranging from interior design, project management, and relocation planning, Amy brings a unique skill set to SSOE. She specializes in acute care, outpatient, and diagnostic interior design. She is also experienced in providing comprehensive services such as furniture, finishes, equipment planning, interior signage, and artwork coordination. Dedicated to involvement with the advancement of the interior design industry, Amy is active in the International Interior Design Association, serving on the Alabama Chapter Board of Directors since 2017, where she currently serves as the Board President. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from Virginia College, Birmingham Campus and is a Registered Interior Designer in the state of Alabama. She will be working out of SSOE’s Birmingham, Alabama office.

Alex Costakis, PE, Mechanical Engineer, joins SSOE with five years of experience in HVAC systems engineering for the healthcare, entertainment, and hospitality industries. He specializes in design, Revit / AutoCAD drafting, construction support, and client relationship management. Alex has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida and recently became a Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Florida. He will be working out of SSOE’s Huntsville, Alabama office supporting the Birmingham team with their healthcare endeavors.
