SSOE Group and Fuqua & Partners Designed Dynetics Solutions Complex Celebrates Grand Opening

Huntsville, AL, June 21, 2012 – CRS Engineering, a division of SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), a global engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) firm, along with their partner, Fuqua & Partners Architects, announce the grand opening of Dynetics’ 226,500 SF high-tech prototyping facility located in Cummings Research Park in Huntsville, Alabama.

Dynetics’ new complex expands the company’s research and development efforts and production capacity for aerospace, cyber, and defense components in the Huntsville area. The facility includes 110,000 SF of laboratory and manufacturing space — including an environmental testing lab, a clean room, cyber / information assurance lab, and an instrumentation lab.

SSOE was responsible for all MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing), fire protection, structured cabling, audio visual, and specialized clean room engineering design services for the $43.5 million project. They worked in conjunction with Fuqua & Partners Architects, who performed the architectural design. This unique complex incorporates many specialized testing areas. It also features a “spine” type datum racking system integrated into the architectural design of the building which allows all electrical, data and security cabling, and piping to be routed through the facility’s research bays for accessibility, expandability, and inspection.

“Our projects have unique electrical and mechanical applications with extensive involvement by the facilities staff of Dynetics,” stated Tom Krueger, Lead, Maintenance Staff for Dynetics. “SSOE understood our requirements, provided solutions, and incorporated them into a building that is both functional and comfortable to work in.”

Dynetics celebrated the successful completion of the project with a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house for the new prototyping facility to showcase the new space and technology displays located within the facility.
