SSOE is currently working with Youngstown State University for the creation of an Excellence Training Center (ETC) that will serve as an advanced manufacturing education and workforce training facility. It will house a training lab, secure group project space, and a workroom space. The ETC will house approximately $5.5 million worth of advanced manufacturing equipment, high bay areas to be used as laboratories, classrooms, faculty offices, restroom facilities, and storage areas. The development of the ETC requires the renovation of and addition to an existing facility on campus.

SSOE is working with YSU faculty and staff to develop detailed bid documents for repairs, renovation, and new construction, assist the university with bidding, conduct bid evaluations and recommend bid award, while also providing on-site construction administration.

Utilization of SSOE’s significant manufacturing industry experience allows for our design team to lead the YSU Excellence Training Center committee through the design process by helping them create a real-life simulated advanced manufacturing environment. We are able to take our knowledge of manufacturing facility and process design, and apply it into the manufacturing educational facility design which will ultimately allow students to be fully prepared to enter the real world manufacturing environments upon program completion.
