SSOE Group is seeking an engineering student to fill Structural Engineering Co-op positions in our Brentwood TN, Troy Michigan, or Toledo Ohio offices. The student must be enrolled as a Civil major in an ABET accredited engineering program- who has completed structural engineering coursework and has productive computer skills. Mechanical Engineer

We are looking to hire a Mechanical Project Engineer who will work onsite assisting one of SSOE’s clients in the commissioning and startup of their plant. Desired candidates will have a mechanical engineering background and must be familiar with automotive plant facilities and equipment.

As a Project Engineer you will evaluate existing systems through field observation, investigation and testing. You will determine root cause issues and develop corrective action plans to submit to the Owner.

You will be expected to work off hours, as required for testing, and occasional weekend or holiday hours to take advantage of plant shutdowns for easier access to systems.

You will obtain field data, developing engineering reports and cost estimates to review with the Owner. You will have interface with the contractor and trades onsite.

SSOE Group is looking for a student to join our Project Controls Department at our award-winning Toledo office. Candidate should possess the desire to work under EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) resources for our organization while providing support to our design and engineering staff. The co-op assignments are structured so that the candidates develop the ability with each new work term to accept work assignments with increasing level of complexity and self-reliance.

SSOE internships provide opportunities for students to gain experience in their field, determine if they have an interest in a particular career, and create a network of contacts.

This opportunity is considered integral to the Construction Team and will be provided tasks that are both technically challenging and educationally stimulating. Under guidance of the Construction Execution Team, the students will be assigned to teams associated with ongoing EPC or EPCM programs.

Although SSOE makes no guarantee of employment, it is our goal to have our Interns fully capable of stepping into a full-time rotation program to prepare them for a project management or construction position within our organization by the end of the program.

Estimator (Design-Build)

SSOE is looking for a Project Controller that can provide accurate conceptual budgets and construction estimates, sometimes with limited or incomplete information, from quantity takeoffs, field investigations, and construction knowledge.

The ideal candidate would possess good understanding of local and project cost factors to apply to a cost estimate. Ability to interface with engineers and contractors to gather and decipher needed information. Ability to analyze contractor bids and assist in bid reviews with contractors, and ability to effectively communicate expectations.

Position may require periodic field assignments and some travel. Long term travel should be less than 25%
